As a legacy for the Headmistress who has just retired she approached myself to see if we good raise some funds for a sensory room for students of both schools in Marsden and the local community when called upon. They raised a lot themselves and through the PTA but were left with a £500 shortfall which the lodge the managed to cover.
Why a sensory room?
A sensory room in schools offers a haven for students to regulate their emotions, focus, and relax. By engaging the senses through calming lights, soothing sounds, and tactile materials, these rooms provide invaluable support for students with sensory processing issues, ADHD, or autism. They promote self-regulation, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being, fostering a conducive learning environment where every student can thrive.
